*raises eyebrow* If one is going to ignore Beechen’s run, then David Cain isn’t really as bad as all those other fathers. He was twisted/abusive and he probably doesn’t regret the damage he’s done to Cass (cuz in his mind he sees her abilities as a gift)…but (before Beechen) there was no denying he cared about her. Enough to stay in jail simply because SHE asked him too. Guy could’ve been “fuck you, I’m gonna do my own thing.” But he didn’t, he agreed to stay put in jail even though he was very much capable of leaving it…all cuz the one person he loved asked him to.  And before he was in jail, he had once been paid to kill Batgirl, but refused once he realized it was Cass and considering No Man’s Land, where he wouldn’t back down from a job until he was paid, that’s no small thing. 
I guess, maybe he’s the number one jerk cuz unlike the others there had been an expectation of respect/love between them and David ruined it from the very beginning with his actions.
That said, I can’t decide who’s worse, David Cain or Ras al Ghul? On one hand, they both use their daughters as tools, one isolating/training his daughter, the other brainwashing/training/spoiling his daughter. 
On the other hand, David (before Beechen) listened and obeyed his daughter while Ras al Ghul tried to use his grandson’s body regardless of his daughter’s wishes. 
Ras al Ghul manipulated his daughters into doing what HE wanted for them.
David not only let Cass do what she wanted and be Batgirl, the crazy man went and murdered and framed Bruce Wayne in a crazy scheme to see if Bruce was worthy of Cass. LOL… 
Is there an award for most Extreme Obsessive Father? (that would be David Cain)
