Some of you already know about this, but I’ve realised that many more probably don’t, so allow me to shamelessly plug my Sailor Moon webcomic, “Four King Hell!”.
Four King Hell! (or 4KH) is a comic featuring - as you might’ve guessed - the ‘Four Heavely Kings’, aka Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoisite and Kunzite. The main, overarching plot is their desire/bet to try and get with “their” respective Sailor Soldier before the others can - which, for various reasons, isn’t going so well. However, (fairly) recently a more serious plot seems to have reared its head - not only are previously-defeated villains returning by unknown causes, but the mysterious “Master Nineteen” has appeared and has the Sailor Soldiers in a bind. But it’s seriously, like, a comedy.
The comic has been going for a few years now, and there are about 150 pages (give or take a few side stories and special events). The art has shifted from quick pencil sketches to polished digital pages, but I think even the early pages are worth reading.
If you like Sailor Moon, and you like my Tumblr, please do me a big favour and take a look at Four King Hell!.

Also, for those of you who already read 4KH!, I’d like to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate each and every one of you. To say that I’m thrilled to know people read + enjoy this comic is a severe understatement. For you, I’ll just say that the comic was updated with a new page yesterday, and today, I’ve uploaded a brand new layout.

This is a really, really fun fancomic and I’d recommend it to people. Despite the sketchy premise, it’s really tongue in cheek and nothing gross has really happened. It’s a fun and pretty well done take on most of the characters (Mamoru is adorkable AS HE SHOULD BE. His fantasizing about being the main character and that part where he stuffs chocolate in his mouth while freaking out) and there’s a lot of great ideas and it plays with all the different continuities of Sailor Moon in a really cool way. Like, there’s tons of little details and injokes (Asanuma!!!) and it’s really funny. The art is also really good and it’s consistently entertaining.
It’s also getting really badass right now with the plot thickening and everyone being their bamfy selves. I’d pretty much rec it for most Sailor Moon fans.
HowEVER considering the nature of my blog I would be remiss if I didn’t warn for some objectifying sexual humor which some people might be turned off by, though I was personally not horribly offended. The Shittenou do basically objectify the Senshi, tho it’s clear they’re supposed to be jerks, but still *loveable*. I’ll continue in a second.
Basically, the premise is that the shittenou have come back to life. A bet is proposed between them who can sleep with their respective Senshi first (Kunzite and Zoicite aren’t terribly interested). Mamoru tells them off until he is lured by the prospect of being main character and impulsively agrees.
Despite this, none of these people have really been able to make good on the bet, and Mamoru hasn’t even really tried. He had an intense chocolate eating meltdown over the possibility of breaking Usagi’s heart and destroying the future. In fact, he went ahead and told the girls about what was happening so they know (and Minako is down for the sex cuz how she rolls. Kunzite is the one who is hesitant).
However, a lot of the objectifying, while clearly supposed to be bad and not working out at all is played for laughs (as is Mako kicking Nephrite’s ass over and over again when he tries anything. I sort of find that ridic enjoyable though because he reeeeeallly deserves it). Dimande also comes on, and he’s still trying to kill Mamoru so he can steal Usagi, he’s just ridic bad at it. He’s clearly supposed to be a creep and nobody likes him, but it is kind of played for laughs and Mamoru is having him stay at his appartment to keep him away from his forgiving girlfriend which is kind of EEEEEH.
But the focus has really shifted away from the bet to a lot of interesting plot happenings, and it’s actually a really fun comic to read with tons of the characters we know and love. I warn for that stuff, but I find I’m able to enjoy it because it’s genuinely funny and obviously there’s a lot of love and thought that goes into all of this, and as I said, nothing incredibly gross has really happened. It’s good, but it’s not for everyone
