Does anyone else find it weird…

dimethyloctapus:

that Kory was objectified in the first issue of RH&tO and there was a huge uproar, but Jason is completely naked in most of this issue and there isn’t as much as a peep (other than fangirl appreciation) about it?

Probably cuz there’s a difference between being objectified and just being naked. Jason’s still a character with power (having a viewpoint that we continued to read in boxes besides dialogue). Kory came across as more like a prop in the story for other characters to comment on.
  1. catt1333 answered: Because Starfire keeps getting more and more naked and she’s a slut. Jason doesn’t slut himself off. He’s just naked.

  22. daddywarbats answered: Jason just turned into an older Damian, not a poorly-written attempt at the male-perspective concept of female agency. Read it cuz curious.
  23. greyfishes answered: I do have too agree that it’s odd… but I think some people had noticed during Batman and Robin 23 and 25.

  27. eloquents answered: that’s because there’s a history of oppression and objectification of women - men don’t have that societal disadvantage just by being born
  28. turnipsandtangerines answered: it should be noted that Jason’s body was not ridiculously contorted for the purpose of seeing his ass and pecs at once. his spine is intact.
  29. lovelyravager answered: I should find it weird and hypocritical but I’m distracted by the beautiful yummy art that is Jason Todd (Jensen Ackles voice aaaaaah)
  30. robowolves answered: What unfroyharper said. Also, it wasn’t just the objectification, but her complete 180 personality we objected to.
  31. batmansrobyn answered: Well, duh. Men obviously aren’t sexual objects, and women are the only ones who can be objectified and oversexualized. Didn’t you know?
